Ten Score as No. 13 Greyhounds Chase Away the Blue Hens

The Blue Hens scored the first goal of the game for the fourth time this season as Fay found the back of the net at 26:44. The Greyhounds then reeled off 10 straight goals over the next 22 minutes before Hartman netted one final first half goal for the Hens to cut the lead to 10-2 at the break. Paton scored four goals for the Greyhounds during the run.

Annie Thomas scored first in the second half for the Greyhounds before the Hens rallied with back-to-back goals from Burns and Fay up to the 23:33 mark to tighten the score at 11-4.

The Hens and Greyhounds traded the next two goals, which would be the final score of the day for Delaware as Hartman scored her second goal with 10:46 left to play.

Back-to-back goals from Loyolas Molly Dickerson and Ali Habicht rounded out the scoring for the day.

Loyola held a 28-16 advantage in shots for the game, but the Hens led in the second stanza holding a 9-7 edge. The Greyhounds won just one more draw control than Delaware for the game and the teams were even in saves with eight each.

Alex Zaugra made all eight saves between the pipes for Delaware in 60 minutes while Loyolas efforts were split between Kerry Stoothoff with five saves and Natalia Angelo with three.

Delaware will look to bounce back this Saturday when the Hens travel to Temple to continue a six-game road swing.
