Navy Uses 5-0 Run to Pull Away from Holy Cross

The Crusaders cut the Navy lead to 8-7 with 10:57 left in the third quarter when Gillespie scored his second goal of the game. But that is as close as the Crusaders would get as Navy then scored five straight goals for the 13-7 final.

Sophomore goalie Kenny O'Connor (Latham, N.Y.) made 13 saves, while R.J. Wickham posted 16 saves for a .696 save percentage. The Crusaders outshot the Mids, 36-35, while Navy picked up 28 ground balls and Holy Cross tallied 18. The Crusaders won 14 of 24 face-offs and went 0-1 on extra-man opportunities, while Navy went 3-5 on extra-man opportunities.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, March 24, when they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to meet Patriot League opponent No. 11 Lehigh at the Ulrich Sports Complex at 1:00 p.m.
