Oberlin Wins Home Opener, Topping Albion

Oberlin, Ohio- Oberlin College won their home opener against Albion on Saturday. The final score of the game was 16-6.

Oberlin was led by junior Ilyssa Meyer who had a game high five goals on the day. Molly Bloom was second on the team with four goals and an assist, while Kate Hanick had three goals and an assist.

Other notables were Sarah Andrews who had two goals, and Alice Zicht as she added a goal and an assist. Seung Yun Jee, Kate Frost and Bronwen Schumacher all had an assist on the day as well.

Albion jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead as they scored three minutes into the game. Oberlin would then added three quick goals in a row and never really looked back. After one more Albion goal, the Yeowomen scored 10 straight goals. Albion didn't score their third goal until the 23:20 mark in the second half.

Oberlin outshot the Britons 33-10 and led in draw controls on the day by a count of 17-8. They also added three free position goals.

Oberlin improves to 2-0 on the season and will have a quick turnaround, as they take on the University of Dallas at 11:00 a.m.
