Yeowomen Take Care of Dallas to Win Third Straight

Oberlin, Ohio- Oberlin College continued their early success on the season as they beat the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon. The final score of the game was 16-9.

Leading the way for Oberlin was junior Ilyssa Meyer, who had a team high four goals. Molly Bloom and Phoebe Hammer each added three goals and an assist for the Yeowomen. Kate Hanick put three in the back of the net on the day. Senior captain Alice Zicht had a goal and two assists on the day.

Oberlin dominated from the opening draw control. After setting up the offensive attack, Bloom was able to score off of a free position shot. The Yeowomen never really looked back as they led the rest of the way. The Yeowomen defense was stellar and only allowed two goals in the first half. They were able to keep Dallas to single digit shots in both halves, and only 16 on the day.

Oberlin had only five turnovers on the day, while Dallas had 16. The Yeowomen also had five free position goals, while Dallas only had one. Dallas did have the advantage in draw controls with a count of 16-10, but the Yeowomen were able to overcome.

Oberlin will be back in action on Tuesday, March 20th when Trine University comes to Oberlin. The game will start at 7:00 p.m.
