Hilbert's Nine Points Lead Seton Hill by Shepherd
GREENSBURG, Pa. –- Rachel Hilbert scored five goals and added four assists to lead Seton Hill to a 20-13 win over Shepherd in women's lacrosse action at Seton Hill on Wednesday.
Junior midfielder Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) tallied five goals and freshman defender/midfielder Alyx Albano (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Hills) added four to lead the Rams.
Junior midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown), sophomore attack Christina Ferrara (California, MD/ Leonardtown), sophomore midfielder Jenny Cavey (Sykesville, MD/Westminster), and freshman attack Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) each contributed a goal and an assist.
Sophomore attack Hanna Wharton (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana) added a goal. Emily Fagan and Emma Simmers added four goals apiece for the Griffins.
Seton Hill opened the game on a 5-0 run and took an 11-4 lead into the break.
Freshman netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) recorded four saves for the Rams, while Nadiine Wallace (9) and Kaitlyn Flaskerud (4) combined for 13 saves for Seton Hill.
Seton Hill had a 35-27 advantage in shots with a 15-9 edge in ground balls. The Griffins had a 23-12 edge in draw controls.
The Rams falls to 8-1 on the season, while Seton Hill improves to 6-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Susquehanna for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
