Boston University Edges Vermont in Slugfest

The Catamounts evened the score at 9-9 two minutes into the second half when Rounds converted an 8-meter shot. Etrasco would score Boston U's next three goals to give the Terriers a 12-11 lead at the 24:28 mark. Marino's third goal of the game knotted the score up for the sixth time at, 12-12, with 22:42 showing on the clock.

Boston U was able to extend its lead to three again with three straight tallies to take a 15-12 advantage with under 10 minutes remaining in the contest.

Emma Kelly netted an unassisted goal at the 8:23 mark to bring Vermont within two, 15-13, and Marino's fourth goal of the game cut the lead to one, 15-14, at the 6:04 mark.

The Terriers were able to win the ensuing draw and Annie Stookesberry scored with 1:46 remaining in the game to push Boston U's lead to two, 16-14.

Marino scored her final goal of the game at the 1:16 mark to cut the lead to one again, 16-15, but that would be the final score of the game. Boston U was able to win the draw following Marino's tally and ran out the clock.

Laura Barber was credited with 14 saves in the Vermont net, while Christina Sheridan made eight stops for Boston U.

Boston U improves to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in America East. Vermont falls to 6-3 on the year and 0-1 in league play.
