Seahawks Get by Hood to Stay Undefeated in CAC

In the third period, O'Hara and Orndorff connected on a pair of man-up goals and Freeman ripped his ninth goal of the season to make it 10-4 in favor of SMCM. Hood outshot the Seahawks 10-4 in the fourth quarter and scored three unanswered goals for the final margin.

Joseph McCulloh made the start in the cage and made 10 saves. He was relieved by Cody Hass just before the halftime horn; Hass logged 4:41 in net and stopped one shot before Nick Reinberg made his Blazer debut in the third quarter. Reinberg turned away three Seahawk shots and allowed two goals.

McCormick made his debut in the face-off "x" and was credited with six wins in 14 tries in addition to scooping a team-high five ground balls. Ross Catron, James Weger and Doug Brisbane forced two turnovers apiece to lead the defense.

Matt Tarrant had a hand in five goals for St. Mary's, scoring three times and assisting on two others. Seven other Seahawks got into the scoring column while a trio of Seahawk netminders combined for nine saves on the day.

The Blazers have a pair of home games against league foes slated for next week. Hood hosts Frostburg State University Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. and Stevenson University Saturday at noon.
