No. 13 Georgetown Outguns Cross-Town Rival American U.

Lauren Schoenberger ended Georgetown's run with the assist from Burton and Lin added back-to-back goals to cut Georgetown's lead to 10-6 with 3:30 remaining in the first. Back-to-back goals from Lin and Jamie Silverman closed out the half for the 11-8 Georgetown lead.

The Hoyas opened the half on a 4-0 run before Burton tallied her second goal of the day with 22:30 remaining, 15-9. Georgetown added another but Burton was able to find the back of the net once again to cut the lead to 16-10 at 18:20. Schoenberger added an unassisted goal to close out the scoring for the 17-11 final score.

Schoenberger had two goals for the Eagles as Kimberly Collins, Samantha Marshall and Silverman each added one. Emily Stankiewicz recorded four ground balls while Emily Maher had six draw controls. Kaska Komosinski tallied six saves in the loss.

The Eagles held an 18-12 advantage in draw controls while each team collected 24 ground balls. Kelsi Bozel led the Hoyas with four goals in the game.

American will return to Jacobs Field this Saturday, March 31 when they take on Lehigh at 1:00 p.m. for the 2012 Lax Blowout.
