Minnesota-Duluth Add 10 Recruits for the 2013 Season

On why he chose UMD, Jake stated "I picked Duluth because I really like the school and the lacrosse program is extremely competitive"

Austin Soine| Chanhassen High School - Austin, a senior attack captain for the Chaska/Chanhassen Storm will join the Bulldogs in the fall after he finishes his high school career where as a junior posted 55 points in 16 games. An elite type finisher/shooter, Austin is outstanding in off-ball play. Austin was a member of the Lakeshore Club program in 2011 and Minnesota Elite from 2008 to 2010. When asked about attending UMD, Austin commented "UMD just felt right to me, the school was welcoming and the program is run very well, the coaching staff was there for me and cared. Everything lined up and the school had everything I wanted"

Robert Stokka| Robbinsdale Armstrong High School - Robbie, a midfielder for the Falcons and member of the Minnesota Elite club program, will be heading to UMD in the fall. He was 2011 All-Section member as a junior. In the current game, where offensively specialized midfielders are often a liability on defense that can be quickly exposed, Robbie will shine. "Robbie is a do it all type of midfielder. The type of player that is crucial to a team's success" commented Coach Clark.

Stokka is quite direct on why he chose UMD : "The intensity coach Clark brings to the team and the staff around him that works non-stop to make the team compete for a championship. I've grown up watching them play and have always wanted to be a part of the lacrosse family they create."

Dan Scalzo |Robbinsdale Armstrong High School - Joining Armstrong Falcon teammate Robbie Stokka at UMD will be Dan Scalzo. An elite, multi-sport athlete, Dan Has had a very successful career as a midfielder for Armstrong. But the UMD Coaching staff believes that Dan's best years in lacrosse are ahead of him.

Scalzo commented "I picked Duluth because of its strong academics, winning background and well-established program."

Logan Lindberg| Rosemount High School - Logan, a midfielder for the Irish, will be a returning captain in 2012. In 2011 as a junior he was a nominated to the All-Section team. He was one of the team's top offensive threats and had an impressive 46 points and 80 groundballs. Another multi-sport athlete with a knack for returning punts the distance, the coaching staff cannot wait to see Logan's speed and tenacity on the field for the Bulldogs.

Lindberg noted "I've always liked the city of Duluth and have been interested in going there ever since I went to the UMD camp when I was in the ninth grade"

Mike Patterson| Rochester Mayo High School - Mike, a senior midfielder has been playing with Rochester Mayo's varsity team since 8th grade. He was the first junior in the team's history to be named a captain and will continue that leadership role as a senior. Mike was a 2nd team all section as sophomore and all section as a junior. Coach Stark Commented "Mike is another great multi-sport athlete. Having him with the other great athletes at midfield is a key in bringing us that much closer to having the ability to reach our team goals."

When asked why he decided to be a Bulldog, Mike said "I chose Duluth because it's a school where I believe I can succeed both in academics and on the lacrosse field."

Kevin Bowditch | Mahtomedi High School - As a Zephyr, Kevin has been a starter since his sophomore year. After finishing his junior year he received all section second team while also being voted as defensive captain for his senior year. Kevin is another multi-sport athlete that will join the Bulldogs, receiving all conference for the highly ranked Mahtomedi football team in the fall of his senior year.

When asked why he chose UMD as his choice, Kevin commented, "It's the type of school and program I can improve at as a student athlete."
