Millersville Breaks Skid, Downs East Stroudsburg

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Joann Caminiti (North Wales, PA/North Penn) notched her first hat trick of the season to lead Millersville to a 15-7 win over visiting East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's lacrosse action on Friday.

Katie Fretz led the Warriors (1-3, 0-2 PSAC) with three goals, increasing her team-leading total to 13.

The Marauders (2-4, 1-2 PSAC) tallied the first five goals of the game, including two of Caminiti's three, en route to snapping their four-game skid and grabbing their first conference victory of the season.

Anna Marmer (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove), Caminiti and Ashley Mazzie (Barto, PA/Boyertown) all finished solo runs in the game's first five minutes to stake Millersville to a 3-0 lead.

Fretz netted an unassisted tally 29 seconds later before going back-to-back at the 14:56 mark, pulling East Stroudsburg within 5-2.

Nadine Owsiany (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley) found the back of the net for her second goal of the season to spark a four-goal flurry, extending the Marauder advantage to 9-2.
