Hartwick Hangs on for One-Goal Win over Cazenovia

Moynihan gave the Hawks some breathing room with a free-position goal with 5:04 left. Priest would answer 1:18 later to cut the Hartwick lead to one with 3:46 to play.

LaVaute would corral one of her game-high four draws to give the Hawks possession of the ball and they killed the clock until 1:21 remained when McGovern's shot was turned aside by Marra. The Cats attempted to clear but they turned it over and Kennedy scooped up the ground ball and Hartwick ran out the clock for the victory.

Sisco ended the game with the game-high in ground balls with six. She also caused two Wildcat turnovers. Kennedy and Erica Scicchitano (Centerport, NY/Harborfields HS) each had four ground balls for 'Wick. Kennedy and Morgan Galipeau (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union HS) ended the contest with three draws apiece.

Marra and Amy Olin had three ground balls for Cazenovia. Foster had three draws.

Hartwick opens up Empire 8 Conference play this Saturday on the road at Utica. Game time is schedule for 3:00 p.m.
