Ravens Suffer Shutout at the Hands of Colonels

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Rosemont suffered their second consecutive shutout, losing to the visiting Lady Colonels of Wilkes University by a score of 18-0. The win keeps Wilkes undefeated at 6-0 while the Ravens dropped to 0-8 on the season.

Wilkes pulled ahead with a goal in the 8th minute of play and scored three more in the next four minutes to go up 4-0 with 12:43 left in the first. The half ended with Wilkes in front by a 6-0 count.

The offense for the Lady Colonels found the net early and often in the second half, scoring seven goals in the first ten minutes of the half to extend the lead to 13-0.

For the Ravens, Kerry Hars (Fr., Schalick, Pittsgrove, NJ) led the team putting five shots on net. Nymira Nelson (Fr., Archbishop Ryan, Philadelphia) had four ground balls and Ashley Fuller (So., Cardinal Dougherty, Philadelphia) won four draw controls to lead the team in those categories.

Wilkes used nine different scorers to compile their 18 goals. Carley Smith scored six goals and Gabby Ford scored four. Wilkes goalie Cassie Cronin was solid between the pipes, stopping all eight Ravens shots on goal.

The Ravens next play Marywood University in Scranton in a CSAC game on Monday, 4/2. Game time is set for 5:00 pm.
