Keeley Nets Six to Propel Westfield by Framingham

WESTFIELD, Mass. Senior Carly Keeley (Feeding Hills) scored a game-high six goals and freshman reserve Stephanie Lenhardt (Duxbury) tallied a game-high eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) to propel Westfield State to a 19-5 victory over Framingham State on Saturday evening, March 31.

It was both the conference and home opener for the Owls, who are 2-5 overall after starting the season with six straight road games. Framingham is 0-1 and 3-2.

Sparked by five first-period goals from Keeley, Westfield raced to a 12-2 halftime lead. Keeley scored twice as the Owls jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening four and a half minutes.

Westfield's second leading scorer was freshman Amanda Bouchard (Lexington), who finished with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists). Junior Maura Stack (Wilbraham) had two goals and an assist.

Senior Kerry Kiley (Mansfield) scored three goals for Framingham, all on free position shots.

Team-wise, the Owls led in draw controls, 16-9, including an 11-3 edge in the first half, shots (31-16), and ground balls (20-14).
