No. 9 Stevens Blitzes Alfred in Empire 8 Opener
Defensively, Stevens was led by senior Matt Marks (Cortland, N.Y.) with four groundballs and three caused turnovers. Junior Tyler Burgasser (Mendon, N.Y.) also picked up four groundballs and caused a turnover.
The Ducks outshot Alfred, 53-24, and picked up more groundballs, 37-23, in the win. Stevens also won 18 of 28 face-offs and scored on four of its seven man-up chances, while holding the Saxons to just one conversion in four opportunities.
Stevens will be back in action on April 7 when it travels to St. John Fisher College for a 1:00 p.m. Empire 8 Conference match-up.
