Maritime Drops Skyline Contest at Kean
THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 1, 2012) – Maritime travelled to New Jersey on Saturday and dropped a Skyline Conference contest to Kean University, 18-2. The Privateers fall to 1-5 (0-4 Skyline) with the loss, while Kean improved to 5-4 (3-1 Skyline).
Senior Catherine Brady (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and sophomore Megan White (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) scored for Maritime, while freshman Tessa Jardine (Valley Stream, N.Y./Waterford) picked up an assist. Jardine and junior Victoria DeLouise (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) each picked up a team-high three groundballs apiece.
Senior Kristen Saporito (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) led the team with five draw controls. Senior Laura Palino (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) made a game-high seven saves.
The Privateers return to action on Friday, April 6, when they travel to Connecticut to take on the University of Bridgeport. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Purple Knights' Knights Field.
