Albion Shut out in Loss at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. Albion was pinned back on defense for most of the contest, and though defenders Jeff Irish (Milford/Detroit Catholic Central), Ian Monkman (Pleasant Ridge/Detroit Jesuit), and Carl Pressprich (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard), and goalkeeper Kyle Formanczyk (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North) played as well as they could, they were unable to hold up for all 60 minutes in a 12-0 loss to Adrian.

"We certainly picked up our effort in the second half," Albion Coach Jake DeCola said. "Kyle finished w 15 saves, Jeff had a great effort causing two turnovers, and picking up seven groundballs at close defense. Carl did a great job shutting down the top threat in the midfield, and Ian played short stick defense and held his man to just one goal."

Albion generated 12 shots. Alexander Dziewit (Clarkston), Dan Genord (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard), Jamie Kehoe (Clinton Township/De La Salle), and Tyler Kilpatrick (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) were all credited with two shots.

Albion, 6-5 overall, will go in search of a victory to end the week at 1:00 p.m. Saturday when it challenges Fontbonne (Mo.) University at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
