Chestnut Hill Hands Post Its 9th Straight Loss

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. Post University suffered its ninth consecutive loss on Thursday afternoon at Chestnut Hill. The Eagles dropped a 17-4 decision in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. Junior Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.) led Post with two goals.

After Chestnut Hill (2-7, 2-4 CACC) scored the first five goals of the game over a span of 12:59, freshman Alanna Bauche (Calgary, Alberta) got the Eagles on the board with 14:07 to play in the first half. The Griffins pushed their lead back to five on a Kelly Campbell tally at the 11:52 mark, and Kanavy pulled Post (1-10, 0-8 CACC) within four, 6-2, on a free-position goal with 10:53 left in the stanza.

Chestnut Hill tallied 11 unanswered goals over a span of 17:36 to take a 16-2 lead with 14:39 left in the game.

The Eagles scored two of the final three goals of the game. Kanavy converted her second free-position goal with 11:29 to play in the second period, while Mallorie Michalak (Meriden, Conn.) closed the scoring with an unassisted goal with 5:51 to play.

For the game, Kanavy grabbed a game-high six draw controls. Michalak, junior Xiomara Tejada (Lawrence, Mass.) and freshman Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.) grabbed three ground balls each. Chestnut Hill's Brianne Timony led all scorers with four goals.

Post continues a three-game road trip on at Wilmington on Saturday, April 14. The opening draw is slated for noon.
