William & Mary Rally Falls Just Short vs. Towson

Each team would find the back of the net one more time before the half ended. The Tigers held a 7-2 lead at the half as junior midfielder Ashley Waldron scored with 31 seconds left in the half.

Towson out shot the Tribe 20-8 in the first half and won seven of the 10 draw controls.

William & Mary scored the first goal of the second half before Waldron scored her second goal of the game to make it an 8-3 game with 21:30 to play.

The Tribe scored the final four goals of the game and pulled to within one, 8-7 with 4:04 to play. The Tiger defense would come up with some big stops in the final four minutes to secure the victory.

Senior goalkeeper Mary Teeters made seven saves to secure her eighth win of the season in goal. Lucy Ferguson made 11 saves in the loss for the Tribe.

The Tigers finished the game with a 26-19 edge in shots and won 11 of the 17 draw controls in the game.

In addition to Rohrback's four points, Waldron had a pair of goals while Raymond had a goal and two assists. Mackrides led William & Mary with four goals.

Towson continues its road trip on Sunday, Apr. 8 when the Tigers visit Old Dominion at 1:00 p.m. The Lady Monarchs lost to Delaware, 9-5 on Friday evening.
