Eagles Shut Out Hornets as Heaps Tallies 100th Point

Once again, the Eagles capitalized on a late-quarter possession when Pelletier ripped a worm burner that found the back of the net through traffic with just 18 seconds left in the third and Husson went up 6-0 after three quarters.

With 11:58 left to play, Landry scored his second, unassisted, to stretch the Eagle edge to seven. At that point Lyndon started to get chippy, and Husson took advantage of some extra-man opportunities. With a man-up Heaps made a nice skip pass across the formation to Potter in the righty money spot, and the sophomore snuck the ball inside the near post to make it 8-0 in favor of the Eagles.

With 9:31 left in the fourth, Brett scored off an assist from Kevin Nolan (Norwood, MA) to give Husson a nine-goal lead. With the Eagles on man-up once again around the eight minute mark, Brown found Landry for the score to put Husson into double digits. Potter rounded out the scoring on an unassisted goal with seven minutes left in the game to put the Eagles up 11-0. Husson milked the last few minutes off the clock, and the score would go final.

The Eagles have a quick turnaround as they return to Boucher Field at 9:00 am on Saturday to take on the Badgers of Johnson State in another NAC bout. Lyndon State will travel to Maine Maritime on Saturday in a NAC contest that is set to begin at 2:00 pm.
