Late Goals Give Susquehanna Narrow Win vs. Marywood

Delevan finished off a hat-trick of his own off a Marcus Cheatham assist to put the Crusaders up 8-7 with 8:59 to play of the fourth quarter but Marywood was able to find the equalizer with just over three minutes to play when Nester scored unassisted. Susquehanna would get goals separated by just 21 seconds to hold a 10-8 lead with 54 seconds left and were able to run out the clock to claim the victory.

The Crusaders, who held a 37-32 edge in shots for the game while winning the groundball battle 35-22, got four points apiece from Delevan (4 goals) and Lein (2 goals, 2 assists). Jordan Daney made 13 save in Susquehanna's cage to earn the win.

Trill finished with four goals, including his team-leading 28th tally of the season, to pace Marywood's attack. Janda added three points on two goals and one assist while Nester (1 goal, 1 assist) and Nowell (2 assists) added multi-point efforts for the Pacers.

Nicholas Cornella took the loss despite making 13 saves in goal for Marywood, who was led by John Pelligrini's five groundballs and two caused turnovers while Nick Johnson added four groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers while winning four of his seven faceoff attempts.

The Pacers converted on both of their extra-man opportunities on the afternoon while holding the Crusaders to one extra-man goal on five chances.

Marywood resumes the Colonial States Athletic Conference portion of their schedule on Saturday when they play host to Neumann University at 4:00 p.m. on the Pacers' Turf Field.
