Top-Ranked Le Moyne Overpowers No. 13 Saint Anselm

Syracuse, N.Y. Junior attacker Kelly Condon (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) registered eight points to lead top-ranked Le Moyne to a 24-9 win over 13th-ranked Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

The Dolphins opened the scoring in the game just 11 seconds into play as senior attacker Brittany Brigandi (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/UMass) won the opening draw and raced toward the goal before passing to junior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), who fired in her 28th goal of the season.

Saint Anselm evened the score at one apiece at the 28:35 mark as Meghan Smith tallied her conference-best 52nd goal of the campaign.

The Dolphins answered with four straight goals in a span of 4:36 to take a 5-1 lead. Brigandi scored the first of the goals with 28:07 remaining off a feed from Condon. Just over three minutes later, Condon scored her 15th goal of the year off a pass from Bauer. Off the ensuing draw, sophomore midfielder Jennifer Fabian (Clay, N.Y./C.W. Baker) finished off a feed from Condon. Brigandi scored in transition off a pass from Kamide one minute and 10 seconds later to cap the spurt.

After Marissa Daly scored her 40th goal of the season for the Hawks with 23:02 left, the Dolphins scored three consecutive goals for a six-goal advantage. Brigandi won the draw after Daly's goal and raced in for her 42nd goal of the year.

With the goal, Brigandi moved into fourth place on the program's all-time points list, moving past Amanda Daniels, who tallied 190 points between 2000 and 2003. Condon followed with her second goal of the game at the 21:33 mark. Senior midfielder Stephanie Dussing (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) converted a pass from Condon with 18:37 left to force a Saint Anselm timeout.

The Hawks responded with three goals over a stretch of 7:37 to pull within 8-5. Carrie Brophy netted the first off a pass from Smith with 17:06 to go. Kaitlyn Stazinski then recorded an unassisted goal with 14:19 left, while Kelly Pickett scored with 9:29 remaining in the half.

The Dolphins extended their lead to 12-5 with four goals in a span of 3:23. Bauer found the back of the net with 8:36 remaining after taking a pass in transition from Brigandi. Just 59 seconds later, Fabian tallied her 10th goal of the season on a free-position shot. Junior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage) gave her team a six goal lead with 7:12 remaining with an unassisted goal. Condon registered the final goal of the run with her 17th of the season with 5:13 remaining.

Stazinski scored a pair of goals around a goal by Dussing to pull the Hawks within 13-7 at the intermission. Her first came with 4:45 remaining, while her second was on a free-position shot with 2:02 left. Dussing scored with 4:01 to go off a pass from Condon.

Le Moyne rattled off the first five goals of the second half to pull away. Sophomore attacker Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) opened the scoring by finding the back of the net just 17 seconds into the half. Less than one minute later, Brigandi tallied Le Moyne's 15th goal of the season.

Following five minutes of scoreless action, Conese recorded her 20th goal of the season after taking a pass from freshman midfielder Anna Daucher (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool). Off the ensuing draw, Bauer picked up her 30th goal of the year on a pass from Kamide. Just over four minutes later, Sophomore defender Megan Collins (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) scored her first career goal after a Saint Anselm turnover near Le Moyne's goal.
