Pacers Stay Unbeaten in CSAC with Win at Notre Dame

Baltimore, MD Sarah Caughy and Taylor McKeown recorded four points apiece and Leigha Dolcemascolo was outstanding in goal to lift Marywood to a 12-5 victory over Notre Dame in CSAC action on Saturday afternoon. The Pacers improve to 8-3 on the season with the win and remain unbeaten in conference at 5-0, while the Gators fall to 6-5 and 3-3 in the CSAC.

Notre Dame scored the game's first goal just 50 seconds into the contest, but Marywood responded with the next five goals to hold a 5-1 led with 17:40 to play in the opening half. McKeown scored twice during the run while Brooke Bondurant, Kelly Kryspin, and Kimberly Commisso added single tallies during the run.

The Gators cut their deficit to 5-2 at the 15:00 mark, but the Pacers responded with four goals to hold a 9-2 lead at halftime. Diana D'Achille started the run before Dana Grossjung netted her first collegiate goal with 4:43 left in the half. Caughy scored the final two goals of the frame to push Marywood's advantage to seven at the break.

Back-to-back goals by Bondurant and McKeown extend the Pacers' lead to 11-2 early in the second half before the Gators stopped the visitors' run with 16:58 to play. Commisso tacked on Marywood's final goal with 15:26 to play before the Gators closed out the scoring with a pair of goals down the stretch.

McKeown (3 goals, 1 assist) and Caughy (2 goals, 2 assists) had four points apiece to lead Marywood's attack. Bondurant (2 goals, 1 assist), Commisso (2 goals), D'Achille (1 goal, 1 assist), and Kryspin (1 goal, 1 assist) also turned in multi-point performances in the win.

Leigha Dolcemascolo was outstanding in goal for the Pacers, turning aside nine Gator shots to earn the win. Commisso led the squad with eight groundballs while McKeown led all players with three caused turnovers.

Molly Murray scored four goals to lead Notre Dame while Mary Briggs made eight saves while taking the loss in the Gators' net.

Marywood held a 24-18 advantage in shots for the game and won 34 groundballs to 20 for Notre Dame.

Marywood will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they play host to Immaculata University in a CSAC match-up slated for 7:00 p.m. on the Pacers' turf field.
