No. 7 Franklin & Marshall Rolls by the Fords

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Erin Dunne netted a game-high five goals to lead No. 7 Franklin & Marshall to an 18-5 win over Haverford in a Centennial Conference (CC) game Saturday. The Diplomats, which won their sixth straight game, improved to 12-2, 7-0 CC while the Fords fell to 5-9, 3-4 CC.

F&M scored the game's first four goals with Dunne depositing a pair of shots and Lauren Selawski and Cat Serpe scoring one each. Haverford responded with a 3-1 scoring run to make it 5-3 with 5:45 left in the first half. That was as close as the Fords would get.

The Diplomats went on a 9-1 run, spanning the final few minutes of the first and much of the second half, to take a commanding 14-4 lead with 8:13 left in the game. Ali Kelly started the run late in the first half while Dunne, Lauren Ehrhardt and Maggie Mae Shields netted two shots and Serpe and Caroline Krohn added one each. Alexis Bond stopped the F&M onslaught with a score at 7:23 before Mary McNutt, Dunne, Selawski and Shields each netted a shot to close out the contest.

The Diplomats were a perfect 14 of 14 on clear attempts while Haverford only converted 11 of 20. F&M won 16 of 25 draws and forced 17 turnovers while Kelsey Hoffman stopped five shots in goal to improve to 12-2.

The Diplomats return action in a highly-anticipated contest at No. 1 Gettysburg Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
