Longwood Suffers Hard NLC Loss to Jacksonville

Sophomore captain Nikki Erdely got the Dolphins rolling when she score with 22:09 to go I the first half on an assist from Kaitlin Stewart.

Nicole Albino then took over and put two home with 17 seconds of each other scoring at 21:53 and 21:36. Hoffman then opened the flood gates with two goals in the 20-minute mark and the Dolphins then score six more in the next 11:40.

Longwood's Sam Stifler finally got Longwood on the board with 5:55 to play in the half. She had two goals on the day and teammate Jamie Brentlinger accounted for the other two Longwood (2-10, 2-2) scores.

JU freshman Holly Ventimiglia had two goals for the winners and Rachel Hannon, Morgan Derner, Brittney Orashen, Jen Cosgrove, Jess Worcester, Chelsea Watts and Rachael Krell also scored.

Hannon, one of the top defenders in the league, now has scored in two consecutive games and had 11 draw controls giving her 23 in the last two games.

Morgan Basler, Ellyn Spangenberg and Kaylee Quint all had three ground balls.

JU goalie Karli Tobin had three saves while her back-up, Asia Moore, had one as Longwood got off only 10 shots during the game and had only five clears throughout. Tobin also had two ground balls in 44:59 minutes of work.
