Bobcats Outrun by the Stags in Non-Conference Play

Quinnipiac scored the next three goals of the game, in a 7:08 span, with Kearney Smith's tally with 2:00 to play before intermission closing the deficit to one, 5-4. Raso completed her hat trick, and what proved to be the game-winning goal, with 45 seconds to play in the half and give the Stags a 6-4 halftime lead.

Kyra Ochwat netted the first goal of the second-half for Quinnipiac, 91 seconds into the half, to close within a goal once again, 6-5. The Fairfield defense, backstopped by Katie Keenan and Kelley Brady, did not allow another goal. The Stags scored five goals in just over 10 minutes, with a pair from Jamie Leone to build the lead to its final margin, 11-5.

Keenan earned the win for the Stags in goal, as she stopped six shots in 54:51 of action. Brady minded the net for the final 5:09 of the contest and stopped both shots she faced. Samantha Tilts stopped six shots in net for Quinnipiac, allowing all 11 goals as she played the entire game.

Raso scored three times, while Amanda Best and Leone each had two goals and an assist to pace the Stags offense. Kate McKinley scored and handed out an assist, while Chmil struck twice and Caitlin Townsend scored once.

Fairfield returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Marist College. The Stags wrap-up the regular season at home on Saturday when they host Siena College at 3:30 p.m.
