Prudente Assists Wesley in Rout of Lancaster Bible

DOVER, Del. - Alyssa Prudente broke her own school-record with eight assists as Wesley College defeated Lancaster Bible, 18-3, on Monday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines are now 8-8 on the season.

Prudente also tallied three goals for 11 total points, matching a career-high that she set earlier this year against Penn St.-Abington.

Jessica Franklin and Jen Jacobs also scored four times while Nina Cornog totaled four points on a goal and three assists. Tristin Burris also had a pair of goals for the Navy & White.

A native of Manchester, Md., Prudente got Wesley on the board just 30 seconds in. With 10:47 left in the first half, she found Burris in front of the goal to give the Wolverines a 10-0 lead. Prudente, Jorden Lutz and Burris would score before the end of the first half but the Chargers finally got on the board with 51 seconds left in the opening frame.

The Wolverines scored five straight goals in the first 16 minutes of the second half and then brought in Katherine Cooke (two saves) to replace Alyssa Batty (one save) in goal. LBC was able to score a pair of goals before time expired.

Led by Cornog and Linnea Cavallo with three apiece, Wesley caused 17 turnovers on the night. Jacobs, Meghan Aiello (1g) and Elizabeth Groom also caused two each. Jacobs also led the squad with four ground balls while Cornog had a team-high five draw controls.

Wesley closes out the 2012 season on Wednesday, April 18, when they make the short trek to Capital Athletic Conference rival Salisbury for a 4:00 pm start.
