Rachel Shuck Promoted to Associate Head Coach at Denver

DENVER In her sixth season with the Pioneers, Rachel Shuck was promoted to associate head coach of University of Denver, head coach Liza Kelly announced today.

"Rachel is incredibly deserving of this promotion," Kelly said. "She has touched the lives of every Pioneer she has coached and helped them to be better players and people. I have enjoyed working with Rachel, and I have personally learned a great deal from her."

Shuck, who had served as assistant coach since 2007, has helped guide the Pioneers to a 59-34 overall record and 31-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

A native of Annapolis, Md., Shuck was a two-time team captain at Loyola College and led her team to three-straight NCAA appearances from 2002-04, advancing to the Final Four in 2003. Shuck was a Tewaaraton Trophy Nominee in 2004 and 2005 and is the all-time assists leader for Loyola College.

Denver concludes the regular season at Oregon on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. MT. The game will be webcast live on Pioneer Vision. Both the Pioneers and Ducks enter the game 6-0 in the MPSF.
