Lebanon Valley Rolls Past Albright

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Another record-setting game from Hana Krechel propelled Lebanon Valley to the brink of the Commonwealth Conference playoffs with a 19-5 rout of Albright.

The Dutchmen (8-5, 3-1 CC) can clinch a playoff berth with a win over Widener on Saturday, or with a loss by Alvernia at #9 Messiah.

Coming off CC and ECAC player of the week honors, Krechel turned in the best performance of her career, scoring six goals with eight assists. Her assists and points totals were school records, and her six goals take her to 199 for her career.

Bailey Benz added four goals and two assists, and Jenny Simensky, Mel Modrick, and Taylor Kruter had two goals each. LVC's 14 team assists and 33 points were single-game records.

LVC dominated the game from start to finish, scoring the first eight goals and outshoot the Lions (4-10, 0-3 CC) 28-16. The Dutchmen also led 17-9 on draws, led by Krechel's four snags.

Krechel scored five of those first eight goals, and after Albright scored three in a row mid-period, a 5-0 LVC run ended the half with Krechel assisting on all five.

Modrick and Benz opened the second half with goals, and Krechel, Anna Pollitt, Christy Wilson, and Benz capped the win with second-half strikes. LVC held the ball much of the second half, not taking a shot over the final 10 minutes.

Erica Ameigh and Corinne Palombo split halves, with Ameigh stopping five and Palombo three. Kiersten Keehn had four saves for Albright.

LVC visits Widener on Saturday.
