Top-Ranked Le Moyne Starts Fast, Crushes Franklin Pierce

Rindge, N.H. Senior attacker Brittany Brigandi (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/UMass) scored four goals and dished out an assist to lead top-ranked Le Moyne to a 19-5 win at Franklin Pierce on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at Sodexo Field.

The Dolphins jumped out to a 6-0 lead through the game's first five minutes and 26 seconds. Brigandi opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the contest with an unassisted goal. Only 15 seconds later, she scored off a pass from junior attacker Kelly Condon (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua).

After almost three minutes of scoreless play, the Dolphins scored three goals in a span of 30 seconds. Sophomore attacker Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) finished off a feed from Brigandi with 26:36 left for her 25th goal of the year. Just 10 seconds later, Conese converted a free-position shot. Sophomore midfielder Jennifer Fabian (Clay, N.Y./C.W. Baker) followed 20 seconds later by scoring her 12th goal of the season off a pass from Condon. One and one-half minutes later, Brigandi capped the outburst with an unassisted tally.

The Ravens scored the game's next two goals to cut their deficit to four. Melissa Richtel scored off a pass from Brianna Nash with 23:08 left, while Courtney Weber made a free-position shot with 20:40 remaining.

Le Moyne answered with five straight goals in a stretch of 8:56 to close out the scoring in the half. Condon recorded her 20th goal of the season with 20:05 left, while Conese followed with her third goal of the half with 18:44 to go. Junior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) netted her first goal of the day with 14:54 remaining in the half on a free-position shot.

Junior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage) then scored twice in a span of 68 seconds. Her first was unassisted with 12:17 to go, while the second was on a free-position shot with 11:09 remaining.

The teams traded two-goal runs to open the second half. Sophomore defender Megan Collins (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) scored her second career goal at the 28:36 mark off a pass in transition by Condon. Brigandi tallied her 55th goal of the campaign with 26:45 remaining to give the Dolphins a 13-2 advantage.

The Ravens got their two goals from Lindsey Leach at the 24:30 mark and Nash with 23:07 to go in the game.

Le Moyne tallied four straight goals to extend its lead to 17-4. Fabian posted an unassisted goal with 22:37 left, while Bauer scored 58 seconds later off a pass from Kamide. Just under two minutes later, Fabian found the back of the net for the 12th time in the last seven games. Kamide closed out the run with 8:14 remaining with her 20th goal of the year off a feed from Condon.

After Ashley Lamagdeleine finished off a pass from Weber with 4:58 remaining to complete Franklin Pierce's scoring, freshman midfielder Anna Daucher (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) scored after taking a pass from classmate Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) with 3:00 to go. Freshman midfielder Julia Suriani (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) completed the game's scoring with her third goal of the season with 1:53 remaining.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Fucillo (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) earned her 45th career victory after making three saves in 40:50 between the pipes, while yielding four goals. Jillian Bolduc turned away seven shots in the setback for the Ravens.

Le Moyne (13-1, 10-0 NE-10), which has won 20 straight Northeast-10 Conference games, returns to action on Tuesday at American International at 6:00 p.m.
