Pacers Cap Perfect CSAC Campaign with Win at Neumann

Aston, PA - Marywood capped a perfect 8-0 campaign in CSAC play on Monday evening with a 13-9 victory at Neumann. The Pacers, now winners of seven-consecutive games, improve to 12-3 this spring and will hold home field advantage throughout the CSAC playoffs.

Diana D'Achille opened the scoring for Marywood just 59 seconds into Monday's contest with an unassisted goal, but Neumann leveled the score just under three minutes later. After Taylor McKeown swapped goals with the Knight's Meghan Garsey, Brooke Bondurant scored a pair of goals, assisted by Kimberly Commisso and Sarah Caughy, to give the Pacers a 4-2 advantage with 13:29 to play in the first half.

Neumann drew to within one at the 12:45 mark of the opening period, but Bondurant set up Kelly Kryspin for a goal with 7:18 left on the clock to restore Marywood's two-goal cushion at 5-3 and Laura Bremer followed by scoring her first goal of the season on a free-position shot to stretch the Pacers' lead to 6-3. Marywood hold the three goal advantage at halftime after outshooting the Knights 12-8 in the first 30 minutes of play.

Commisso score a pair of goals early in the second half to stretch the Pacers' lead to 8-3 before Neumann got one back with 26:40 showing on the clock. D'Achille's second goal of the game with 23 minutes to play pushed Marywood's lead back to five at 9-4, and following a tally by the Knights, Commisso netted her third and fourth markers of the game to give the visitors an 11-5 advantage with 16:12 remaining.

Garsey's second goal of the contest for Neumann cut the host's deficit to five goals with 11: 38 left on the clock, but McKeown's second goal of the game off a free-position opportunity at the 9:36 mark restored Marywood's six-goal cushion at 12-6. The Knights netted three-straight goals to cut their deficit to 12-9 with 3:34 left in regulation before D'Achille completed her hat-trick with a free position goal at the 2:55 mark to close out the scoring.

Commisso paced Marywood's attack with five points on four goals and one assist while D'Achille (3 goals), Bondurant (2 goals, 1 assist), and McKeown (2 goals) all had multi-point efforts for the Pacers. Commisso added a game-high eight groundballs and Lauren Indelicato scooped up six groundballs as Marywood held a 36-34 advantage in the groundball battle.

Leigha Dolcemascolo made 10 saves in Marywood's cage to pick up her 12th win of the season.

The Knights, who fell to 10-5 on the season and 5-3 in the CSAC, got two goals apiece from Garsey, Alexandra Bohen, Andre Lorusso, and Koula Gregor while Sam Kotowski made six saves in the net for Neumann.

Both teams fired off 23 shots in Monday night's game while the Pacers held a 14-10 advantage in draw controls.

Before hosting a CSAC Semifinal on Wednesday, May 2nd, Marywood will close out the regular season this Wednesday as they play host to Hartwick College in a non-conference game scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on the Pacers' Turf Field.
