Thoroughbreds Fall to No. 12 Union in Finale

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- Skidmore College dropped a 16-4 Liberty League contest to #12 Union College, Saturday at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds end the season 5-10 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Dutchmen advance to the Liberty League semifinals with a 10-3 overall and 5-1 leaguerecord.

Union scored the game's first five goals and eight of the first nine on the way to the win.

Ted McKenna and Nolan Connors had four goals each for the Dutchmen. Nick Alfonzetti added a pair, while Rob Santangelo had a goal and three assists. Union had 12 different players pick-up points.

Skidmore got goals from Jeff Caruso, Tony Baum, Ryan Paradis, and Josh Berger. Paradis won 13 of 21 faceoffs and had a game-high eight ground balls.

Matt Diaco took the loss in net he had nine saves in the first three quarters. Drew Butturina and John Southerland each saw time in the fourth, with Butturini credited with four saves.

Sean Aaron had 11 saves in 48:03 for the Dutchmen.
