#19 Shoremen Down Bears to Earn CC Hosting Honors

In the fourth quarter, junior defenseman Michael Pierandri (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) scored his first collegiate goal and point with 3:16 left to make it 9-2 Shoremen. Stratton scored his second of the goal of the game with 89 seconds left to cap the scoring.

Cord has a pair of goals for the Shoremen who enjoyed a 37-36 edge in shots on goal in the game. Senior goalkeeper Peter Stewart (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary's) stopped 14 shots in the victory. The Shoremen won eight of the 15 face-offs in the game and held a 28-19 edge in groundballs.

Stratton led Ursinus with three points on two goals and one assist. In cage, T.J. Magnani stopped 11 shots for the Bears.

WC was 0 for 4 on the man-up, while Ursinus was 0 for 8. The Shoremen were 5 for 7 in clears, while the Bears were 3 for 4.

Washington is in the tournament for the 10th time and the first time since 2009.
