Marywood Cruises Past Rosemont in Regular Season Finale

Rosemont, PA Riley Dobel and Marcus Janda set new program records with nine points apiece on Saturday, and Marywood cruised to a 29-5 win at Rosemont. The Pacers (9-6 overall), claimed the second seed for next week's CSAC playoffs with a 6-1 conference record where they will host third-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College on Tuesday evening.

Marywood built a 12-2 lead after the first 15 minutes of Saturday afternoon's contest behind four goals from Dobel and Janda, along with single tallies by Greg Nester, Taylor Goldson Chris Riley, and Nick Johnson.

The Pacers outscored the Ravens 10-0 in the second quarter to claim a commanding 22-2 advantage at halftime. Sam Trill scored three goals in the period while Dobel and Janda netted their fifth goals of the contest in the period. James Martell, Ryan Nowell, Dylan Swope, Jarrod Bulger, and Mike Falco also netted second quarter markers for Marywood.

After Rosemont scored 46 seconds into the third period, the Pacers got goals from five different players and would hold a 28-4 lead going into the fourth quarter. Swope, Jon Roerden, Gaeten DeSimone, Nick Lucchesi, and John Barrett found the back of the net for the visitors in the third frame.

Lucchessi added his second goal of the game just over four minutes into the fourth quarter before setting up Ryan Kearney's goal at the 8:50 mark. Rosemont's Justin Regan closed out the scoring with 3:12 to play with his third tally of the afternoon.

Marywood, who held a 50-37 advantage in shots for the game, got nine points apiece from Dobel and Janda, both of whom scored five goals and assisted on four others. Trill finished the afternoon with five points on three goals and two helpers while Lucchesi added four points on two goals and two assists. John Pelligrini and Dante Frederico also added assist for the Pacers, who got points from 19 different players in the win.

Nicholas Cornella picked up his ninth win of the season after making seven saves in the first half in goal for Marywood. Brian White turned aside four shots in 15 minutes of play while Steve Kilian was credited with three saves in 15 minutes of action between the Pacers' pipes.

Brian Terlizzi won nine of 14 faceoffs to lead Marywood on draws and also collected four groundballs. Swope led the Pacers with six groundballs while Chris Vogel tied for a game-high with three caused turnovers.

The Ravens, who finished their first season at the varsity level winless in 14 contests (0-7 CSAC), were paced by Regan's three goals while Dean Grisoff and Austin Molocznik added a goal and an assist apiece. John Gonzalez made six saves in net for Rosemont.

Marywood will host Gwynedd-Mercy in the CSAC Semifinals on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. on the Pacers' Turf Field. The Pacers rallied to edge the Griffins 9-8 on March 24th when the two teams met during the regular season in Gwynedd Valley.
