Lady Rams End Regular Season with Victory at Dominican

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Philadelphia University closed out its 2012 regular season with a road 13-11 win over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Dominican (N.Y.) Sunday afternoon.

Philadelphia improved to 8-9 overall and 7-5 in the conference. The Lady Rams will be the third seed in the CACC Tournament, and have a May 5 showdown with second seed and tournament host Georgian Court at 3:00 p.m. The Lions won the season series, 2-0.

Attack Emily Ray scored four times for Philadelphia, including twice during an 8-0 first-half outburst that gave the Lady Rams a 9-2 advantage with 5:57 left. After the Chargers (6-9, 6-6 CACC) came back to knot the score at 10, Ray struck twice to put the Lady Rams back in front 12-10.

Attack Taylor Peltzer found the back of the net three times, two times during the first-half run, and dished out two assists. Midfielder Kalin Hodel and attack Elizabeth Marrosu scored twice.

Gina Sparaco, Aubree Williams and KC Jentzen all recorded hat-tricks for the home team. All three players had two goals during a 8-1 run that spanned both halves and tied the game at 10.

Ellen Wright played well in the Philadelphia goal, stopping 12 shots. Dominican's Veronica Iozzi made six saves. Dominican outshot Philadelphia, 33-24.
