Haverford School vs. Malvern Prep

Haverford School used a tremendous motion offense all night to take down a tough Malvern Prep squad in the first semifinal, 9-5. The Ford offense played unselfishly and was opportunistic, with big plays coming from Sam Rohr, Henry Blynn, Zach Rego, and Rielly Hupfeldt. Haverford's defensive standout, Paxton Moore, was a terror in passing lanes as LSM, while Warner Bailey and James Chakey kept the Malvern attack in check.

Malvern goalie Matt Barrett was a standout in the cage, and Jack Sheridan and Chad Rafferty gave onlookers every reason to believe that Notre Dame will have a top flight defenseman during his tenure in South Bend. In the end, however, it was just too much offense from the Fords. Haverford attackman Gavin McBride displayed why he draws comparisons to legend Sidney Moncrief with a nifty alley-oop goal early in half number one.

Lawrenceville School vs. Episcopal Academy

Episcopal took down Lawrenceville with a huge 2nd half to break a 3-3 halftime tie. Tyler O'Dell and Jon Garino led the Churchmen to an 11-4 victory over the New Jersey powerhouse. This semifinal, played in suburban Philadelphia at Cabrini College, proved to be a showcase event for the Episcopal offensive standouts. O'Dell got the Episcopal in gear early, and Sam Lawlor flashed his split dodge seemingly at will. Morgan Westby and Garrett Walling also supplied a spark when needed for Coach Hayes' Churchmen, and Jon Garino proved why he is thought by some to be the Egg McMuffin of face-off men in the Philly area.

For Lawrenceville, offense came in the form on Brendan Newman, Steffan Gratch, and Mark Leonhard, with longstick Walker Kirby joining in the fun with an EMO goal that will not soon be forgotten. Senior goaltender Matt O'Connor ended his career at Lawrenceville with a superb effort, playing tremendously in the cage for Coach Fitzpatrick.
