US Lacrosse 2012 High School Girls' All-Americans: Group 1
BALTIMORE, May 25, 2012 – US Lacrosse today honored 40 high school girls' lacrosse players as US Lacrosse High School All-Americans, the first of three groups of honorees to be announced. A total of 16 first-team All-Americans and 24 honorable-mention All-Americans were selected from the Central Texas, Gulf Coast (Fla.), Houston, Orlando, South Carolina and South Florida chapters of US Lacrosse.
US Lacrosse uses a calendar-based recognition process to accommodate for the different timeframes of high school lacrosse seasons across the country. The second and third girls' groups will be announced in June.
A US Lacrosse All-American is a player who exhibits superior skills and techniques and possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. A US Lacrosse All-American is one of the best players in the United States, while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.
Questions concerning who is or is not included on the list should be addressed to US Lacrosse, the organization that bestows these awards, and NOT to LaxPower.
We will be supplementing the list — where this information is available to us — with players' hometowns and the colleges they will be attending for 2012-2013 if they are seniors.
The initial 2012 list and lists from earlier years can be reached from the High School All-Americans page (a link to which appears on both the Boys and Girls main navigation menus). It can also be accessed directly here: 2012 Girls' All-Americans. See the paragraph and links at the top of the listing for more information about submitting corrections and updates.
