Scattergood Announces Resignation as W&J's Lacrosse Coach

WASHINGTON, Pa. Washington & Jefferson College head women's lacrosse coach Kate Scattergood announced her resignation on July 11 after five seasons with the Presidents' program.

"We would like to thank Coach Scattergood for her contributions to Washington & Jefferson College," said Director of Athletics Bill Dukett. "We appreciate her hard work in helping to build our women's lacrosse program and we wish her great success in the future."

Scattergood, the first head women's lacrosse coach in school history, helped W&J post a 50-27 record since the program's inception in 2008. During each of the past three years, W&J advanced to the semifinals of the ECAC Division III Tournament.

"I would like to thank the College for this opportunity and wish the program well in the future," said Scattergood.

Dukett announced a search for the Presidents' next head coach would begin immediately.
