Wallace Named Lacrosse Assistant Coach at American U.

American University lacrosse head coach Laura Campbell has announced the hiring of Emma Wallace as an assistant coach.

"I am so happy to have Emma join our coaching staff and welcome her back to the East Coast," said Campbell. "Her positive attitude, conscientious nature and desire for success will fit in very well with our program here at American."

Wallace most recently served as an assistant coach at the University of California–Berkeley from September 2011 to June 2012, where she was mainly responsible for the development of the midfield. She was also the head coach of the BearLax Lacrosse Club in Berkeley, Calif. Before joining the California-Berkeley staff, Wallace was the varsity head coach at the Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, D.C. She also served as the varsity head coach at the Highland School in Warrenton, Va. and the Upper Corner Lacrosse Club in northern Virginia.

"I am very excited to be a part of Coach Campbell's program at American University," said Wallace. "I look forward to working in a great academic and athletic environment where I can grow as a coach and work with high level lacrosse players in a competitive conference. This is a wonderful opportunity and I can't wait to get out on the field with the team."

Wallace played defense for Johns Hopkins and was a member of three NCAA tournament squads. She graduated with a degree in political science in 2007.
