Lutz Welcomes Nine to Shenandoah for the 2013 Season

WINCHESTER, Va. - SU Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Lindsey Lutz announced her 2013 recruiting class Tuesday morning.

Lutz, who has led her Hornets to 25 wins in the past two seasons, welcomes nine women into the program for the 2013 campaign.

Shenandoah lost just one player, Alexis Landau, to graduation off of a 2012 squad that won a program-record 13 matches.

Lutz will have 23 women on her pre-season roster. Lutz has three recruits each from Maryland and Virginia and one apiece from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Eight of the nine are field players. Two primarily play defense, two in the midfield, three on attack and one, Sarah Hankins, is a combo player on the offensive end.

Bonnie Giovannetti, from Poolesville, Maryland, rounds out the class and will provide depth in the goal behind All-Chesapeake Region goalie Ashley Cross.

"Our schedule is considerably more difficult this season with our transition to the ODAC," Lutz said. "These women need to be ready to compete immediately, because we are now playing in one of the best leagues in Division III."
