Marist Adds Six Recruits to the Lacrosse Class of 2016
Anna Petrunich, Midfield, Westborough, Mass./Westborough
Petrunich will join the Red Foxes after a decorated high school playing career at Westborough High School. A four-year starter on the varsity team, she has played an important role in her school being named Central Mass Division 1 District Champions her first three seasons. Following her junior season in 2011, Petrunich was named an U.S. Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention and U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American. She also was named to ESPNBoston's MIAA All-State Lacrosse Team and the "Telegram and Gazette" Super Team the same season. She also found success in field hockey and track at Westborough. A four-year player and three-year starter on the field hockey field, Petrunich was named as a Mid-Wach B League All-Star following her senior season, this past fall. In track, she was also named and Mid-Wach B League All-Star. A strong student, as well, she has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society for the last two academic years.
Brittany Tricarico, Defense, Port Jefferson, N.Y./Brookhaven-Comsewogue
Tricarico has been a member of Brookhaven-Comsewogue High School's varisty lacrosse team's starting lineup all four years. A captain her senior year; she earned accolades for her play on the All-Division team in 2012. She was named to the Academic All-American team two times following her junior and senior seasons. As a member of the Long Island Yellow Jackets club team, she was recognized as the team's MVP in 2010, as well as the MVP of the 2010 Galaxy Nationals. A multi-sport athlete, Tricarico also participated on her varsity field hockey, track and cheerleading teams. A well-rounded student-athlete, she has been a member of the National Honor Society for two academic years and the National French Honor society for four. Tricarico also earned the President's Award for Academic Excellence.
