Catawba Names Clodfelter as the New Head Lacrosse Coach

SALISBURY Jordan Clodfelter has been named head women's lacrosse coach at Catawba College, it was announced today by Dennis Davidson, Director of Athletics. Clodfelter comes to Catawba from Pfeiffer University, where she served as assistant women's lacrosse coach for two years, 2010-12.

Clodfelter also assisted at her alma mater, Guilford College, in 2009. She also served as acting head coach in the fall of 2010 at Pfeiffer, during the head coach's maternity leave.

As a student athlete at Guilford, Clodfelter was a four-year starter in women's lacrosse and team captain in 2008. She earned second team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference in 2006-2008 and honorable mention as a freshman in 2005. At the end of her career, Clodfelter ranked fourth all-time in assists, sixth in points and seventh in goals at Guilford. She earned the Guilford women's lacrosse Unsung Hero Award in 2007 and was selected to the student athlete honor roll in 2005 and 2006.

In 2006, Clodfelter traveled to Australia as part of the Down Under Challenge Team USA International squad. A native of Calais, Vermont, Clodfelter graduated from Guilford in 2008, earning a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science.

"We are extremely excited to have Coach Clodfelter join our Catawba staff," said Davidson. "She has experience, both as a coach and as a student athlete, and brings a wealth of passion and enthusiasm to the position."
