Richmond Names Kate Lawlor as Lacrosse Assistant Coach

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va.-- Kate Lawlor was named to the Spider staff as announced by head coach Allison Evans.

"I'm excited that Kate will be joining the Spider family," said Evans. "She is an incredible teacher of the game and demonstrates strong leadership and mentorship abilities. Kate is someone that positively impacts those around her and I am confident that she will help propel this program to new levels of success."

Lawlor comes from Louisville Collegiate School, where she was an assistant athletic director and head varsity girls' lacrosse coach. Lawlor coached varsity girls' lacrosse and oversaw the entire lacrosse program grades 5-12.

Prior to Collegiate, Lawlor worked as a volunteer lacrosse assistant coach at the University of Louisville from 2009-2011. While there, Lawlor earned her Master of Science in Sport Administration.

A 2009 William & Mary graduate, Lawlor was a two-time lacrosse team captain and a fixture on the Tribe's starting lineup as a defender. Lawlor also demonstrated success in the classroom, earning the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award in 2007.

In 2009, Lawlor was tabbed a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American. Lawlor earned her bachelor's degree in government from William & Mary in 2009.
