Harvard Announces Its Lacrosse Recruiting Class of 2016

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Chris Wojcik '96, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, has announced the addition of 10 freshmen for the 2013 season. The Class of 2016 has been ranked as the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation by Inside Lacrosse and features six student-athletes ranked in the top 100.

Harvard has boasted a top 10 recruiting class each of the last four years, including the No. 3 class in both 2011 and 2009. This year's group includes Inside Lacrosse's No. 2 recruit in defenseman Bobby Duvnjak, the No. 4 recruit in attackman Devin Dwyer and the No. 22 recruit in attackman Ian Ardrey. They will be accompanied by No. 27 Walker Kirby, No. 52 Sean McDonagh, No. 68 Donald Burns, as well as Bryan Moore, Conor Murphy, Brendan Newman and Stefan Pate.

The Class of 2016 will be joining 32 returning letterwinners from last year's squad which ranked 22nd in the country in scoring offense and 30th in scoring defense.

Ian Ardery, Attackman, 5-10, 185, Greenwich, Conn.
Ranked as the No. 22 recruit in the class of 2016 by Inside Lacrosse ... Played varsity lacrosse all four years at Deerfield Academy ... Captain of the lacrosse team in 2012 ... Helped the lacrosse team win three NE West 1 Championships from 2010-12 ... Named Under Armour All-American in 2012 ... Also named All-New England in 2012 ... Leading scorer at Deerfield in 2012 ... Also played three years of varsity football and one year of varsity hockey ... An Honor Roll Student all four years of high school ... Volunteered as a peer counselor from 2011-12 ... Acted as a proctor in 2012 ... Mother, Wendy Ardrey, played tennis at Stanford ... Father, Jamie Ardrey, played soccer at Dartmouth.

Donald Burns, Attackman, 6-0, 165, Jamesville, N.Y.
Ranked as the No. 68 recruit in the class of 2016 by Inside Lacrosse ... Played varsity lacrosse for three years at Jamesville-DeWitt ... Helped lacrosse team win 44 consecutive games over two seasons and the NYSPHSAA State Championship in 2010 and 2011 ... Named U.S. Lacrosse All-American in 2012 ... Also named an Under Armor Underclass All-American in 2011 ... Selected first team All-CNY in 2012 and third team All-CNY in 2011 ... Named first team all-league in 2010 and 2011 ... Awarded team MVP in 2012 ... Also played four years of varsity hockey at Jamesville-DeWitt ... Captain of the hockey team in 2011 and 2012 ... Selected as second team All-CNY in 2012 ... Awarded hockey defensive MVP in 2012 ... Also played varsity golf for three years at Jamesville-DeWitt ... Captain of the golf team in 2011 ... Selected first team all-league in 2010 and 2011 ... Robert Duvnjak, Defenseman, 6-3, 205, Manhasset, N.Y.
Ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the class of 2016 by Inside Lacrosse ... Played varsity lacrosse all four years at Manhasset ... Captain of the lacrosse team in 2012 ... Led Manhasset to two New York State Championships ... Helped the lacrosse team go undefeated in his sophomore season ... Named All-American in lacrosse three times ... Also named All-Long Island and Academic All-County for three years ... Two-time recipient of the Nassau County Defensive Player of the Year award ... Also played four years of varsity football at Manhasset ... Captain of the football team in 2012 ... Selected for the MSG Varsity All-Metro Team ... Named All-County and All-Conference once ... Vice president of the 'Be Like Rachael' club ... Four-year member of the St. Mary's youth group ... Father, Karlo Duvnjack '85, and sister, Annie Duvnjak '08, are graduates from Harvard College.
