George Washington Lacrosse Adds Nine Newcomers for 2013

Cara Dellavecchia was born on Sept. 16, 1994, in Glen Head, N.Y. She is the daughter of Linda and Charles Dellavecchia and has three older brothers, Michael, Mark and Christopher. Cara intends to major in international economics at GW.

Ellie comes to GW from nearby Langley High School where she was a three-year varsity starter. Ellie guided her squad to 2010 Liberty District and Northern Region championships and for her efforts was twice named to the Women's Division National Tournament D.C. Metro Team. Serving as team captain her senior year, Ellie helped Langley to runner-up finishes in the 2012 district, region and state championship games. Ellie was twice named to the North Region All-Tournament Team and was a three-time All-Liberty District selection. She received her team's leadership award in 2012 as well as the coaches' award for being the Most Valuable Player in 2011. Elli was an eight-time scholar-athlete and a two-time recipient of her school's academic award. She was a member of the National, French, Science, Leadership and Quill and Scroll Honors Societies. Ellie served as the yearbook editor and a Saxon Writing Center tutor. She also competed for Capital Lacrosse Club.

Ellie Glasgow on why she chose GW: "I chose GW because it offers the perfect balance of location, strong academics and established lacrosse program. GW is the only school I can envision myself at for the next four years of my life."

Ellie Marie Glasgow was born on Aug. 20, 1994, in Silver Spring, Md. She is the daughter of Nancy and Thomas Glasgow and has one older brother, Tommy.

Eagan High School Minnesota Lakers Lacrosse Club | 5-foot-6


A four-year letterwinner at Eagan High School, Simone comes to GW as a three-time all-conference selection. After being named Rookie of the Year in 2009, Simone racked up four Athlete of the Week nods during her sophomore season. She was named her squad's MVP for three straight seasons and was twice named Offensive Player of the Year. A two-time captain during her junior and senior seasons, Simone was dubbed Attack Player of the Year and earned a spot on the all-state team in 2011. During her senior season Simone was named a Ms. Lacrosse finalist and was on the Top-10 Prep School Athletes to Watch list. Simone graduated with honors and was an AP scholar. She also competed for the Minnesota Lakers.

Simone Haugen on why she chose GW: "I chose the George Washington University because of the great mix of academics and athletics that the school offers and its location in one of the greatest cities in the world. There are so many opportunities at GW and in Washington, D.C., that other universities do not offer."

Simone Elise Haugen was born on March 31, 1994 in Edina, Minn. She is the daughter of Claudia Battaino and Michael Haugen, and has a younger brother, Matthew, and a younger sister, Sarah. Simone intends to major in political science at GW.

Archbishop John Carroll High School Phantastix Lacrosse Club | 5-foot-2


Gabbi comes to GW as a three-year letterwinner at Archbishop Carroll. During her junior season she was named All-Times Herald Honorable Mention and earned All-Main Line Honorable Mention accolades during her junior and senior years. In 2012 Gabbi earned a spot on the All-Catholic League Second Team and was dubbed an Academic All-American. A four-year honor roll student, Gabbi was a member of the National Honors Society from 2011-12 and participated in the Best Buddies club. She also competed for Phantastix Lacrosse Club.
