George Washington Lacrosse Adds Nine Newcomers for 2013

Gabbi Hull on why she chose GW: "I chose George Washington because of Coach Hannaford and the program she runs. She is an excellent coach and I know the program is on the rise. I am looking forward to my involvement with the team and making a contribution. The team makes me feel right at home."

Gabrielle Christine Hull was born on May 13, 1994 in Livingston, N.J. She is the daughter of Karen and A. Eugene Hull and has one older sister, Genevieve.

Julia Lawson | Defense | Westford, Mass.
Brooks School Revolution Lacrosse Club | 5-foot-8


A three-sport athlete at the Brooks School, Julia was a two-time All-Independent School League selection and a 2012 New England Prep School Women's Lacrosse Association All-Star. She also received All-ISL honors in both basketball and field hockey. Julia also competed for Revolution Lacrosse.

Julia Lamont Lawson was born on Feb. 26, 1993, in Nashua, N.H. She is the daughter of Kathryn and Robert Lawson and has two older brothers, Rob and David.

Maeve McHugh | Attack | Englewood, Colo.
Culver Academies | 5-foot-9


The all-time leading scorer at Culver Academies, Maeve is a two-time First Team All-American as well as an Academic All-American. Maeve is a three-time all-state selection as she earned second team honors during her sophomore season followed by first team accolades as both a junior and senior. She is a three-time All-Northern Regional Team selection and a three-time member of the Indiana High School State Championship All-Tournament Team. Following the 2012 Midwest Championships, Maeve was named to the All-Tournament Team, the All-Great Lakes Regional Team and the All-Midwest Team. She was also a member of Culver Academies' Spanish Honors Society.

Maeve McHugh on why she chose GW: "I chose GW because there is no other place that I would rather spend my college career than in one of the greatest cities in the world. While receiving an excellent education and competing on the lacrosse team, I will be engaging in everything each has to offer."

Maeve McHugh was born on March 10, 1994, in Denver, Colorado. She is the daughter of Anne and Malcolm McHugh. She has one older sister, Bailey, and one younger brother, Liam.

Cherry Hill East High School South Jersey Select Lacrosse Club | 5-foot-3


Becca comes to GW following as high school career as a three-year starter and senior captain from Cherry Hill East where she helped her squad reach the Group 4 South Jersey State Tournament in four straight years. She tallied 84 goals and 26 assists in her career and was the first player in school history to be selected to compete in the 2011 Women's Division National Tournament. An All-South Jersey Senior All-Star Game selection, Becca earned a spot on the Philadelphia Inquirer and Courier-Post All-South Jersey Lacrosse Second Teams. She was also named to the All-Olympic-American Conference in 2012. Becca was a member of the field hockey team and was the recipient of her team's Player's Player Award in 2008. A four-year honor roll student, Becca was selected to the Cherry Hill East Senior Class Hall of Fame, an honor given to those who represent high levels of academics, athletics, and school and community involvement. Becca also competed for the South Jersey Select Lacrosse Club.
