Vassar Appoints Casey Martin as an Assistant Lacrosse Coach

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 11, 2012) Casey Martin, an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Wagner College the last two seasons, has been named an assistant coach at Vassar College.

Martin, who was the Recruiting Coordinator at Wagner, comes to Vassar with experience as both a coach and a player. At Wagner, Martin worked on both sides of the ball with the offensive unit and with the goalies. He assisted in the organization of practices, film breakdown, scouting and national recruiting.

Prior to joining the Wagner staff, Martin was the men's head lacrosse coach and player for the Manchester Wasconians in Manchester, England for the 2009-10 season.

Martin was a three-year lacrosse letterman at Fairfield University from 2005-07. He was a member of the Fairfield team that won the Great Western Lacrosse Championship in 2005 and participated in the NCAA Championships that same year. Martin graduated from Fairfield with a B.S. in Finance in 2008 and with an MBA in Management from Wagner in 2012.

As a scholastic player at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Martin was a three-year starter and team captain in 2003 and 2004. He ranks in the top 10 in school history in goals and points. For his accomplishments in lacrosse and as a football team captain, Martin was elected into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
