Niagara Names Taryn Burkholder Assistant Lacrosse Coach

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - Niagara women's lacrosse first-year head coach Wendy Stone has announced the addition of Taryn Burkholder to the coaching staff.

"We are proud to welcome Taryn back to the Niagara lacrosse program," Stone said. "I'm confident that she will be able to bring her knowledge and experience to our program. I'm excited that she will begin her college coaching career with us here at Niagara."

Burkholder returns to Monteagle Ridge after a solid career as defenseman for the Purple Eagles. She was a two-year captain, scoring 11 goals and 16 points during her career, including a career-high seven goals and nine points during her sophomore season. In her final season, the West Seneca, N.Y. tied her career-high 29 groundballs collected and 18 draw controls won.

The daughter of Niagara hockey coach David Burkholder, she graduated from Niagara with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
