Syracuse's Gait and Tumulo Reprimanded by the NCAA
Syracuse head coach Gary Gait and star player Michelle Tumolo have received public reprimands for conduct that occurred at the Division I national championship game in May, which the Orange lost, 8-6, to Northwestern.
Gait was reprimanded for making critical comments about the officiating during the post-game press conference. Tumolo's misconduct involved making unsporting comments and placing her hands on an official after she received a second yellow card. Her per diem and transportation expenses were withheld in addition to the reprimand.
Because Tumolo was also issued a red card at the time of the incident, she will be suspended for the first game of the 2013 season.
