Fairfield Lacrosse Announces Schedule for the 2013 Season

April 13th marks the final time that the Stags senior class will don their uniforms at home, when Air Force visits for an ECAC contest. The Stags are 6-2 all-time against the Falcons, who finished 6-7 last season. Fairfield then plays a pair of road games, traveling to Denver on April 20 and Ohio State on April 27. The Stags knocked off the Pioneers in a thrilling overtime game on Lessing Field last season, 9-8, and avenged a regular season loss to the Buckeyes with an ECAC semifinal victory.

The 2013 ECAC Tournament will be hosted by Hobart in Geneva, N.Y. the weekend of May 4. The tournament champion earns an automatic bid to the 16-team NCAA Tournament.

Fairfield is coming off one arguably its best season in program history, as the 2012 Stags posted a 12-4 mark and finished ranked 17th in the nation in the Nike/InsideLacrosse poll. The Stags were ranked 11th in the final NCAA RPI rankings, with three of its four losses having come to NCAA Tournament participants. Fairfield finished third in the ECAC Lacrosse League regular season standings, and is the only program to have played in the ECAC Championship Game in each of the tournament's two years of existence.
