Campbell Announces Early Signing Lacrosse Class of 2017

BUIES CREEK, N.C. Head coach Phil Schuman announced the signing of 13 players to National Letters of Intent for the women's lacrosse team. The class of 2017 is the second recruiting class to sign with CU, as the team enters their first season in February.

"We are thrilled to announce the Campbell University Women's Lacrosse Class of 2017," Schuman said. "Our goals with this class were to establish ourselves with the top club programs in the country, find dynamic student athletes with high character, and address depth in each position. We achieved all of those."

Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Florida, and North Carolina are the states represented by the high school seniors. When they step on CU's campus in August, they will join the 14 members of the inaugural signing class.

"I think this class is a great indication of what we can do in the normal recruiting cycle," Schuman added. "We have representatives from some of the top high school and club programs up and down the east coast. They all had great opportunities with other established programs, but chose Campbell because they believed in what we were doing here."
